Our Mission: Expanding Educational Opportunity for Arizona Students

Community Reinvestment: Low Income Based Scholarships Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Arizona-certified School Tuition Organization (STO) providing K–12 private school tuition scholarships exclusively for low-income and foster-care students in Arizona.

Our mission is to expand educational opportunity by helping families with limited financial resources access schools that meet the individual needs of their children.

Our Mission

We believe a family's income should not determine a child's access to educational opportunity.

Community Reinvestment transforms Arizona tax-credit contributions into tuition scholarships for students from low-income families and children in foster care. Our focus is intentionally narrow: directing scholarship resources to Arizona students with demonstrated financial need.

We want every scholarship to do more than help pay tuition. We want it to give a student greater access to an educational environment where they can learn, grow and build toward their future.

Who We Serve

Community Reinvestment serves K–12 students throughout Arizona who meet the eligibility requirements for our scholarship programs.

Our scholarship decisions are needs-based and income-verified. We focus our resources on low-income families and foster-care students so that tax-credit scholarship funding reaches children for whom tuition assistance can make a meaningful difference.

How Community Reinvestment Works

Arizona taxpayers can redirect qualifying state tax liability through contributions to certified School Tuition Organizations.

Community Reinvestment receives eligible tax-credit contributions from individuals and corporations and uses those funds to provide tuition scholarships to qualifying Arizona students.

Families can apply for scholarships throughout the year, and awards are made as funding becomes available.

Partnering With Arizona Businesses

Arizona businesses can play an important role in expanding educational opportunity for students across the state.

Through Arizona's corporate School Tuition Organization tax-credit programs, qualifying corporations can contribute through Community Reinvestment and support scholarships for income-qualified students.

Community Reinvestment helps corporate partners understand and navigate the STO contribution process, including the required Arizona Department of Revenue preapproval process.

Our Vision

Today's investment in education can create opportunities that extend far beyond a single school year.

We envision Arizona communities in which students from families with limited financial resources have meaningful educational choices and the opportunity to become future leaders, innovators and contributors to their communities.

By connecting families, schools, individual donors and Arizona businesses, we are working to make educational opportunity more accessible to students who need it most.
